Job Description

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual servers running on VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms.
Administer Windows Server and Linux server environments, including user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, including backups, performance optimization, and security.
Configure and manage storage solutions (SAN, NAS) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
Manage and troubleshoot network configurations, ensuring smooth network operation.
Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable server infrastructure to meet the needs of the organization.
Perform routine server maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, and system health checks.
Monitor server performance and identify and troubleshoot any potential issues.
Document server configurations and procedures for future reference.
Assist end-users with server-related issues.
Stay up-to-date with the latest server technologies and best practices.

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms.
Strong understanding of Windows Server and Linux Server administration.
Proficiency in SQL Server administration.
Working knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS).
Familiarity with network concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A passion for technology and a willingness to learn new things.

Desired Skills:

Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
Experience with container image registries (e.g., Docker Hub).
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for container automation.
Certifications in CompTIA Server+, Microsoft MCSE, Linux+ (preferred), and container-related certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA) highly regarded.
