Job Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily sea freight activities, including cargo handling, loading, unloading, and storage, ensuring adherence to safety standards and damage prevention.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sea freight operations team, provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and promote a high standard of productivity and compliance.
- Process Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve operational challenges such as shipment delays, documentation errors, and cargo handling issues; escalate complex problems to the Operation Coordinator or Branch Manager when necessary.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal departments (logistics, warehousing, customer service, documentation) and external partners (shipping lines, freight forwarders, trucking companies, depots, customs authorities) to ensure seamless communication and operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all sea freight operations comply with local, international, and company regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze operational performance reports, track key metrics, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience in sea freight logistics
- Proven operational leadership skills in managing sea freight activities effectively.
- Proficiency with logistics management systems and operational software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of international sea freight regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Familiarity with best practices in sea freight operations and compliance standards.
