Tips for an interview with USER!

Be ready to be Seen!

After you had interview with HRD, if you are considered to the next steps, normally you will have opportunity to get interview with the user. Here are some tips to prepare an interview with the user:

  1. Research!
    Get more info about the job you are applying for. This is very important part for you to succeed in the interview with the user. You have to learn on how to succeed on that job, what need to pursue, what need to learn, what skills are needed, what are the challenges and how to mitigate the challenges.
    Find information about the basic things about the company you are applying for, for example its industry, what products/services it produces/sells, where they have their operations, Head Quarter & branches, including the company working culture. This will be useful for you to answer possible questions, such as "What do you know about our product?", "How do you think to penetrate our product to the new market?", "Are you ok if we assign you in one of our branches offices?", etc.

  2. Review
    Take a look one more time to the job description, job objective, and the job requirements info in the job advertisement, and also your own resume or CV. This will help you to answer one questions such as: "Could you please elaborate your work experience?", "Why do you think this position is fit for you?", "What is the best thing of you so that we have to consider you to fill this position?", "What was your biggest achievement in your previous/current role?", "Since you are a fresh graduate, what field you are interested in at most?", "Do you have certain certification related to this offered job?", etc.

  3. Practice on Problem Solving
    One of the common questions from the user will be about a sample case to solve. This will be your chance to show how good you are to analyze & understand the situation then come up with some alternative solutions with the objective not only for the sort-term, but also for the long-term horizon.

  4. Align your attire
    By knowing the company culture, one important thing you can align is the proper attire you need to wear when you are attending the interview. This is also critical because normally the HR person will evaluate your personality if it is aligned to the company values and culture.

  5. Be On Time
    Most people do not like to wait, so make sure you arrive at the interview location before the scheduled time of the interview session.
